Enlightenment as Sole Goal vs. Multiple Valid Destinations

Much of the vault's eastern-spirituality material treats enlightenment (realization of non-duality) as the goal. See Pratyabhijna which describes recognition of true nature as the realization.

SourcesMuch of the vault's eastern-spirituality material treats enlightenment (realization of non-duality) as the goal. See Pratyabhijna which describes recognition of true nature as the realization. How to Kill Kali introduces Enlightenment vs. Conversion which claims these are two different destinations. Conversion (eternal relationship with the Divine) is equally valid as enlightenment (dissolution into non-duality). The tension: If there are multiple valid destinations, then recommending "enlightenment" as the goal is incomplete. But if enlightenment is the ultimate goal, then conversion is a preliminary stage that should eventually lead to enlightenment.
TensionThis is not a trivial distinction. It changes everything: If enlightenment is the goal: conversion is a means If conversion and enlightenment are equal: they are different paths with different endpoints These cannot both be true in their strong forms.
