What Would Need to Be True
For position 1 (different problems):
Clinical evidence showing CBT fails specifically on paradox-level contradictions but succeeds on distortion-level problems
Evidence showing Jung's transcendent function is unnecessary when contradictions are actually resolvable through evidence/logic
Clear diagnostic criteria distinguishing the two classes of problem
For position 2 (different levels):
Evidence that CBT success rates plateau at symptom reduction
Evidence that further integration requires non-logical work
Clinical evidence of people who "solved" their thoughts but remain psychologically unmoved
For position 3 (incompatible):
Clinical cases where reframing demonstrably fails despite accurate reframing
Evidence that symbol-work succeeds where CBT fails
Theoretical articulation of when logic is insufficient (not just difficult)
