Kundalini Syndrome vs. Psychosis — Indistinguishable Presentations

Kundalini syndrome symptoms: - Spontaneous energy movements in the spine (can be interpreted as hallucinations) - Altered perception and consciousness shifts (can look like delusions) - Involuntary body movements and kriyas (can look like psychomotor agitation) - Sensory/perceptual flooding (can look like sensory overload in psychosis) - Deep fear and confusion (can look like psychotic terror) - Dissociative episodes (can look like catatonia or withdrawal)
Psychosis symptoms: - Hallucinations (vs. kundalini's perceptual shifts which are organized and kundalini-system-specific) - Delusions (vs. kundalini's framework which is internally coherent and map-able to spiritual tradition) - Disorganized thought (vs. kundalini's often-heightened clarity and insight) - Deterioration in functioning (kundalini can involve temporary instability but often increasing capacity)
The problem: A person experiencing kundalini awakening in a Western psychiatric context will be diagnosed with psychosis. They will be given antipsychotics. Antipsychotics suppress kundalini activation—not by "treating" it but by suppressing the nervous system's capacity to reorganize.
Result: The person loses the awakening but ALSO loses their spiritual development opportunity. They're "stabilized" into a smaller version of consciousness.
