The same principle ("the constraint is the path," "the obstacle is the way") has opposite valences in different domains — liberating in creativity, oppressive in structural-poverty. The framework holds both, side by side, without a unified account of why the principle frees here and oppresses there.
The constraint-principle's validity is a gradient indexed to two variables: chosen-vs-imposed and developmental-vs-structural. Creativity is the clean case (chosen, self-deployed, genuinely generative); poverty is the fraught case (imposed, structural, the "generativity" possibly quietism). The principle isn't uniformly true — and every domain-blind "embrace the obstacle" teaching (Stoic, self-help, adversity-as-gift) is making a claim valid in some domains and cruel in others, usually without flagging which. Falsifiable: the chosen-vs-imposed / developmental-vs-structural index predicts where the principle frees vs. oppresses.
