Larsen Pañcāṅga-Keystone vs Foss Mantra-Keystone — Same Sanjay-Rath Parampara, Different Operational Emphases

The vault cannot adjudicate from current evidence. The collision is internal to the Sanjay-Rath transmission.
The most parsimonious hypothesis: *Sanjay Rath transmits a complete pedagogy in which Pañcāṅga karma-filter and per-graha mantra-recitation are both load-bearing — but at different operational layers. Pañcāṅga answers what karma is ripening; per-graha mantra answers how to remediate the karma that is ripening. Each disciple has foregrounded one layer in their written work according to their own chart-affinity or pedagogical preference. The keystones are not in tension; they operate at different operational-stages of the same pipeline.
If this is right, then: 1. Foss's mantra-keystone presupposes the Pañcāṅga-karma-filter as upstream context. 2. Larsen's Pañcāṅga-keystone presupposes the per-graha mantra-remediation as downstream output. 3. The two practitioners' books are complementary, not competing, when read together. 4. A reader who has both books gets the full Sanjay-Rath pipeline; a reader with only one gets a partial-architecture view.
This would also explain why Larsen's lineage retains the conditional Daśā-variant family that Foss does not foreground — the conditional Daśās are part of the karma-filter precedessing the chart, while the 108-mantra-system is part of the remediation following the chart*.
- A direct ingest of Sanjay Rath's primary writings (especially Crux of Vedic Astrology — Timing of Events 1998 or A Course on Jaimini Maharishi's Upadesa Sutra 2007) would reveal whether Rath himself privileges Pañcāṅga, per-graha mantras, or a meta-position above both.
- A side-by-side practitioner-comparison: a chart read through Foss-keystone-only vs Larsen-keystone-only would reveal whether the readings complement or contradict. If they complement, the integration-hypothesis is supported. If they contradict, there is a deeper internal-lineage tension.
- The biographical-comparative question: did Foss and Larsen receive the same teaching from Rath at different times, or different teachings reflecting Rath's own developmental arc? Direct biographical data on each disciple's training-arc would help.
