Picture the version of this that's happened to you: the routine that was finally producing results — the workout plan, the content schedule, the sales script that converts — and you changed it. Not because it stopped working. Because you got a better idea, and the old one had started to feel like something you'd already figured out, and figured-out things are boring.
Prathamesh Krisang says this happens to him too, by his own admission, regularly, in his own business. He's built a specific structural defense against it — a person whose actual job is to stop him from doing it — because he doesn't trust himself not to.1
Krisang is precise about what kills a working system at this particular stage, and it isn't what most people assume. It isn't a market shift, a competitor, a mistake. "This is a moment where 98% of people fall down, which is now you have started working, things are working well, and you start thinking of new ideas."2 He names the mechanism directly: "all you have to do is repeat the same damn thing every single day, and it gets so boring that you want something new in life. And then you start getting distracted with new ideas. And whatever you're doing, which is working, stops working."3
The diagnostic detail that makes this worth its own page, separate from the general five-stage map, is the second half of that sentence: "you don't even realize you're doing that because the boredom is so invisible for you."4 This isn't a failure a person can catch by watching for it, because the thing that would need catching doesn't announce itself as boredom. It announces itself as inspiration — a genuinely good new idea, arriving at exactly the moment repetition has become unbearable, dressed as opportunity rather than as escape.

Krisang generalizes the pattern past content creation with an example from a product business he's built: a sugar-free sweetener a customer knows, factually, is keeping them off a list of health problems. The knowing isn't in question. "You know that using this sugar-free sweetener is going to keep me off so many issues," he says — and then, "all of a sudden, you start getting distracted and start having sweets."6 Nothing about the underlying facts changed. The customer didn't discover new information that made the sweetener a worse choice. Boredom with the correct, working, unglamorous choice did the work that a genuine counter-argument would have had to do, and did it without ever presenting itself as an argument at all.
Krisang's own account of managing this in himself is the clearest worked example in the source material, and it's worth taking at face value precisely because he offers it as confession rather than as technique: "I know exactly what is working, the kind of content that is working, the kind of everything that is working. Now, at this moment if I get distracted it's going to hurt my business. And my partner, Rohan, he also knows about this. I have told him, like, 'Dude, see, I have a problem. I'm too creative. I'm going to get distracted. It's your job to bring me on track and remind me that I need to focus.' And that's what he does almost daily. Every single day I send him, 'Dude, like this is a great idea. We should try it.' It's like, 'Focus. Let's do what we are doing, right?'"7
What's notable structurally: Krisang doesn't trust his own judgment at the point of temptation. He doesn't try to build willpower against the boredom. He builds an external role — a specific person, with a specific, standing instruction — whose entire function is to intercept the good idea before it can do what good ideas do at this stage, which is quietly replace something that's working with something that merely feels new. The defense isn't discipline. It's delegated judgment, installed in advance, before the boredom shows up disguised as inspiration.
You're three months into something that's finally working — a content format, a client process, a habit — and this morning you had an idea. A good one. You can feel the pull of it, the itch to try it instead of the thing you know already works.
Before you act on it, you do what Krisang's structure does for him: you don't ask yourself is this a good idea — of course it feels like a good idea, that's the whole trap — you ask a different question. Is what I'm currently doing still producing the result it was producing last week? If the honest answer is yes, you write the new idea down somewhere it can wait, and you do the boring thing one more time. Not because the new idea is bad. Because you've just watched yourself reach for a new idea at the exact moment repetition became uncomfortable, and that timing is the tell.
