Hanumanic Strategy — Phase 9b Threads

Source ingest: Kalyāṇ Hanumān Aṅka, the Devotees, Legends & Worship group — 24 essays read in full, 2026-08-18, completing the volume at 122 of 123. Read against The Hanumanic Strategy Corpus.

Four research lines. The phase built only five pages, and the reason — two thirds of its candidates already existed — is itself one of them.

Thread 1 — The form was on the shelf the whole time

The line. Phase 9a's largest finding was an absence: sixty-one documents, ~103,000 words, no report of anybody practising. It was filed as a difficulty of the material. It is not. The volume runs a recurring column made of nothing but such reports — two instalments, thirteen accounts, named contributors, dated 1959, 1922, 1965, placed at Siyarwa and Laksar and Chitrakoot, with a witness-boundary volunteered in the one case where a crowd would have helped the story.

What makes it a thread rather than a scolding. The corpus already has the honest instinct, in a different room. Five week-long experiments name their own null result before starting — "or if it's just another personality framework", "or just creates spiritual theater." So the capacity is present in both strata, and in both it is confined to one small corner while the surrounding material behaves worse.

The question. Why is specificity expensive? Not rhetorically — the manners cost a year, a village and a name, all of which the writer already knows. What is actually being protected by leaving them out? The answer this build can see is that named, dated, placed is a standard, and a claim that meets it can be checked and found wrong, whereas 80% show sustained income growth cannot be. Hanumanic Strategy Corpus — Limitations §B, the manufactured evidence

Why it cannot be closed here. Kalyāṇ ran for decades and this build has read one issue. A testimonial column that has never rejected anything is a noticeboard, not a standard — one refusal or correction anywhere in the run converts it into an editorial instrument. Nobody has looked.

Thread 2 — A capacity that proves nothing about its own direction

The line. The volume's most rigorous siddhi demonstration stops mid-argument to concede that Rāvaṇa was a genuine yogi, his tapas real and bent, and that "raw yogic siddhi and moral direction are two entirely separate questions." The modern corpus proposes, separately and without knowing it is agreeing, building Hanumān's qualities "through systematic practice rather than devotional approaches."

What makes it a thread. Both texts state the detachability and then behave as though it were not true. The essay goes on demonstrating capacities as evidence of character. The corpus goes on gating a three-year curriculum on signs that are all capability-shaped — colleagues notice, others seek guidance, work exceeds personal capability.

The question. Is there any marker of devotional development that a merely competent practitioner could not also produce? If the capacities come without the devotion, then nothing in a practitioner's growing capability is evidence the devotional half is happening at all — and every progression scheme in both strata is measuring the half that was never in doubt.

The one candidate the build has. Rāmsukhdās's test: the unglamorous serving continues undiminished. It is first-person, countable, can come back zero, and moves against the failure mode — a consolidating spiritual identity teaches more and runs fewer errands. Nobody in either corpus gates anything on it.

Thread 3 — Durable submission from someone who cannot stay

The line. Two traditions solve the same problem and neither knows the other exists. Zhuge Liang captures the same barbarian king seven times and releases him each time, because he cannot garrison the south — the submission has to hold after he leaves. The Aśvamedha horse creates the identical constraint: Hanumān moves through kingdoms he will never revisit, occupying nothing. Three of his four opponents convert, and the defeat itself is the delivery mechanism.

What makes it a thread. The mechanisms are opposite and the difference is structural rather than cultural. Liang makes himself impossible to resent — the technique is accumulated release, and it needs seven attempts. Hanumān makes himself irrelevant to the transaction — the defeated king sees Rāma, not Hanumān, and it takes one blow.

The question. Does redirection to a third party generalise outside devotion? Liang has no Rāma. The second mechanism looks unavailable to anyone acting on their own behalf, which would make it a technique of agents rather than principals — and that is a claim about institutions, not about religion. Is there a secular version, and does it work, or does the third party have to be something the defeated party already wanted?

The honest complication. All three of Hanumān's converts were already facing the right way — one under a sage's curse, one a Śiva-devotee, one a Rāma-devotee. The kick did not turn them round; it removed what was in the way. So the mechanism may be selection rather than persuasion, and the demon who simply dies is the control case nobody in the volume reads as one.

Thread 4 — The bookkeeping and the content are in different rooms

The line. Three genres in one volume, and their virtues do not overlap. The testimonial column has manners and no doctrine. The practice biography has the only complete sādhanā record in either stratum — ten hours a day, eleven years — and no date, no witness, no locator at all. And the volume's one stated evidentiary method — self, contemporaries, adversary concession ranked highest — ranks the column last and cannot see the biography.

What makes it a thread. This is not a defect of individual writers. A genre with fixed fields outperforms a careful author with no form, because the fields are still there on the day the writer is tired, invested, or hoping. The column's contributors were not more scrupulous than the scholars; they were filling in when, where, who, who else saw.

The question. Is epistemic honesty in this literature a property of persons or of forms? The build has evidence for the second — rigour appears in patches inside single essays, unmarked, with the same contributor operating at four standards in twelve pages. If forms are doing the work, the repair for the modern corpus is not better intentions but four boxes.

Where it goes next. The 44 unread folder documents and the site's unread stotra, sādhanā and temple sections are the test. If a second practice record turns up anywhere, ten hours a day becomes a norm rather than a superlative — and if it turns up in a genre with fields, the thread closes in favour of forms.

Where these came from

The phase-9b extraction log's five standing questions, its saturation loop, and the five pages built from it. A fifth line was considered and dropped: the observation that this group's essays were scattered across the volume and two thirds of its candidates already had pages is a finding about this build's method, not about the material, and it belongs in the log and the PRD rather than here. It is recorded in both.
