Argument type: Practitioner-lineage exposition of Sri Aurobindo's Record of Yoga / Sapta Chatushtaya siddhi system. Sraddhalu reads Aurobindo's and the Mother's own words aloud and glosses them with anecdote, contemporary example, and his own sādhana experience. Evidence is textual citation (Aurobindo's diary + letters + the Mother's Agenda) plus practitioner observation. All transcript claims [PARAPHRASED]; passages read aloud from Aurobindo/the Mother flagged [PARAPHRASED — read aloud].

Summary

Aurobindo reframes the eight siddhis as supramental powers — divine, top-down — of which the familiar "vital" siddhi is the reduced, mechanical version. He re-architects them as 2 of knowledge (vyapti, prakāmya) + 3 of power (aishwarya, ishita, vashita) + 3 of being / sat (mahima-garima, laghima, anima), mirroring the sat→chit structure of consciousness. The powers already exist in everyone, used unconsciously and mechanically (the "laws of nature" are siddhis of sat run on autopilot); practice frees them from habit. Aurobindo tested all of this empirically — "more scrupulously than any scientist," logged in the Record of Yoga. The powers are justified (God is immanent; the world is a divine unfolding) but dangerous when they manifest fragmentarily in a weak, ego-dominated vehicle. Safe use rests on four principles (nature-not-miracle / ego-dissolution-by-widening / dangerous-ordeal-guard / develop-don't-pursue) and unfolds naturally as consciousness widens — not via tantric/mantric technique, which leaves you dependent on a lower process.
