The Dual Assessment Method

The corpus's most useful measurement proposal is three sentences long and sits in the middle of a document about something else. Track a standardised clinical instrument and the tradition's own signs of attainment, side by side, in the same log.1

It requires no study, no cohort, no funding and no institution. And it refuses the choice everyone else in this territory makes — between reporting that a practice feels transformative and proving that it moves a number.

The Proposal

The document names an instrument: GAD-7, the seven-item generalised anxiety scale. Alongside it, for the same variation of the same practice, it names the practice's own traditional markers of attainment.1Those markers are contents of a received practice and are withheld from this build; what matters here is their grammar, and the grammar is recorded.9

And a third layer, cheaper than either: a daily log recording baseline state before practice and state after, on a 1–10 scale.1

The document's own account of why both columns: "This dual assessment approach validates both your psychological healing and spiritual development."1The word doing the work is both. Neither column is being converted into the other.

The stated expectation is also specific, and it is the part that makes the log worth keeping: not merely "immediate post-practice relief" but a gradual shift in the baseline itself over time.1That is a falsifiable prediction, and it is falsifiable using data the practitioner already has to hand.

Why the Two Columns Cannot Be Merged

The instinct with two measures is to validate one against the other — to see whether the traditional markers track the GAD-7, and to trust them if they do.

That instinct would destroy the method, and it is worth saying why.The two columns are not two measurements of one thing. A seven-item anxiety scale asks how often symptoms occurred over two weeks. A traditional marker of this kind asks whether a particular thing arrived, unbidden, inside a single episode. One is a frequency over a window; the other is an event with a location.

⚑⚑ A practitioner could be more anxious by the instrument and further along by the marker, and that combination is not noise — it is the most informative cell in the table. It is what a period of genuine, destabilising practice would look like from outside.

The converse cell matters too.Falling GAD-7 with no traditional marker moving is the signature of a practice working as symptom management and not as what it claims to be — and a practitioner who only kept the clinical column would read that as unambiguous success.

What It Inherits Without Saying So

The method's structure is not new to the corpus, and locating its twin sharpens what it is doing.

Phase 7 identified the corpus's best formal device as a two-line conversion tableTraditional: … printed directly above Daily Life Equivalent: … — whose virtue is that the reader can see the swap and judge it rather than being handed only the result.5

⚑⚑ This is that device applied to evidence rather than to doctrine.Same move, different object: print both, side by side, do not resolve them. The author does not appear to have noticed he was doing it twice, and the two instances are in different documents.

Where the Corpus Needed This and Did Not Use It

The corpus's central evidential failure is a set of studies that do not exist — "50 practitioners tracked," "300% rate increases," "crime down 42%" — and the build has recorded them.4

The dual assessment is the thing that would have been written instead, by an author with the same intentions and no access to a cohort. It produces real data about one person, honestly labelled, over a long enough period to show a baseline moving.

⚑⚑ And that is not a lesser substitute for the fabricated studies. It is a better object than the studies would have been if they were real, because the corpus's claims are about a practice done by a particular person with particular conditions, and an n-of-1 design with a pre-specified marker is the correct instrument for exactly that question.

The proposal appears once, in a document about something else, and is never referenced again in the fifty-three folder documents read to date.

Against the Volume's Own Test

The Aṅka has a test for whether devotional development is real, and it is worth setting beside this one.

Rāmsukhdās's test for spiritual inflation is behavioural: does the serving continue undiminished?3It is not a scale and it is not an experience. It is a question about conduct that another person could answer about you.

⚑⚑ The traditional markers in this document have the same grammar, and that is the whole of what needs recording about them. Not one is a light, a certainty, a sensation or a feeling of progress. Each names something that either occurred or did not, inside a stated circumstance — and each is, in principle, the kind of thing another person could notice.

Which suggests the third column the method is missing, and the volume supplies it free: an external marker, answerable by someone else. The corpus already knows how to ask for one — its business material includes a third-party assessment with the sting pre-accepted.6 It has never asked for one about the practice.

The Limit the Method Cannot Cross

A dual log is still self-report on both sides, and the practitioner scoring the traditional column is the person whose development is at issue.

The GAD-7 does not fix this — it is also self-report — but it has a property the traditional markers lack: it was written by people who did not know this practitioner and cannot be adjusted by him. ⚑⚑ The traditional markers were selected by the author from a practice he already believed in, which means the criteria for success were set by the party being assessed.

That is not a reason to drop them. It is a reason to fix them in writing before the period begins and not revise them during it — which is precisely the discipline the corpus's own pre-registered experiment designs already impose on its business questions.6

The Prediction That Can Fail

Buried in the proposal is the only falsifiable claim the corpus makes about its own practice, and it is easy to miss because it is phrased as an expectation rather than as a hypothesis.

The document predicts two different things and separates them.First, immediate post-practice relief — the score after is better than the score before. ⚑⚑ Second, and this is the real claim: "gradual shifts in your baseline anxiety levels" over time.1

The first is nearly unfalsifiable and worth almost nothing. Sitting quietly for twenty minutes will move a pre/post rating, and so will a walk. The second is a genuine prediction with a shape: the number the practitioner starts at, on an ordinary day with no practice yet done, should drift.

⚑⚑ And it can fail cleanly. A year of daily logs showing a strong pre/post delta and a flat baseline would refute it — and that pattern is not exotic. It is what a practice that reliably produces a pleasant state and changes nothing else looks like.

This is the distinction the corpus's fabricated efficacy figures obliterate.A claim like "80% of practitioners reported improvement" does not say which of the two it means, and the honest version of the same ambition is one person, two columns, and a baseline that either moved or did not.4

The design also names, without meaning to, the study the corpus should have run: not fifty practitioners for five years, but one practitioner, one pre-specified marker, and long enough for a baseline to drift. That design has a name in the clinical literature and a real methodology behind it, and the corpus reached past it for a cohort it did not have.

Implementation Workflow

Fix both columns in writing before the period starts.Name the instrument, name the traditional markers, and name the period.A marker chosen after the fact will be the one that moved.

Log the 1–10 pre/post daily and the instrument monthly. The daily figure is for the baseline question — whether the starting number drifts — and that question needs frequency more than precision.

Never convert one column into the other, and never drop a column because it disagreed. ⚑⚑ Disagreement between the two is the finding, not a defect in the design.

Add the third column the corpus already knows how to build: one named person, asked at the end of the period whether they noticed anything, with the question fixed in advance.6

Evidence, Tensions, Open Questions

Source. The Psychological Architecture of Hanumanic Sadhana, read in full 2026-08-18 with the seven other documents of the psychology cluster.1 personal-notes. [EXTENSION]the method is the author's proposal, presented as his own, and needs no tradition-claim.

Bounded. That this proposal appears once and is never taken up is a claim about the fifty-three folder documents read as of 2026-08-18 — phases 1B, 3, 7 and 8. ⚠ Fifty-two documents are unread, including a measurement-oriented one — the Triple Lens Assessment System — whose title suggests it bears directly on this and which has not been read. Nothing is claimed about it.

Open question — ANSWERED 2026-08-18, phase 9, and the answer corrects this page.Does the corpus's measurement material elsewhere reproduce this design, or replace it with something worse? ⚑⚑ It replaces it with something considerably better.

The Triple Lens Assessment System runs three domains chosen because they fail independently — interpersonal, cognitive load, and crisis response — with a stated rule for what disagreement between them means.10 ⭐⭐ And it contains the external instrument this page recommends and records as absent: a Monthly Feedback Collection Protocol asking three regular contacts for honest feedback, with the request deliberately framed "as personal development research rather than spiritual practice assessment to avoid biased responses."

So this page's Implementation Workflow instruction to "add the third column the corpus already knows how to build" was correct about the document treated here and wrong about the corpus. The correction is recorded rather than quietly folded in.The dual-assessment proposal remains the better entry point — two columns and a daily log is a week's commitment where the triple lens is a quarter's — but it is the simpler instrument, not the only one.

🚩 [EMPIRICAL CLAIM — unsupported] on the surrounding document's neurological claims, which are not part of this method and are not relied on by it. ⚑ The method is fully separable from them and is stronger separated.

No results exist. The document proposes the design and reports no data from it anywhere.

Author Tensions & Convergences

The same author who designs a dual-column log for his practice publishes efficacy figures for a study he did not run.4

The two are not in the same document and they are not in tension in the author's mind, because they are answering different audiences. ⚑⚑ The log is what a practitioner keeps. The figures are what a marketing page carries. The corpus contains both registers and the build has recorded the split before — external verification appears where money and reputation are at stake, introspection where psychological material is.7

What is new here is that the split runs the wrong way round for once. The careful instrument is in the private document and the invented evidence is in the public one — which is the reverse of the usual failure, where the private work is loose and the public claim is hedged. The author is more rigorous with himself than with his readers.

Cross-Domain Handshakes

Devotion Compared to Clinical Treatment. The mandatory pairing, because that page holds this corpus's largest unsupported claim — that Hanuman sādhanā contains protocols "that rival modern psychedelic-assisted therapy and trauma treatment", with clinical applications listed by condition and no evidence of any kind.2 ⚑⚑ The insight the pairing produces: the dual assessment method is the exact instrument that claim requires, written by the same author, and it is never turned on it.An equivalence claim between a devotional practice and a clinical treatment is precisely a claim that two columns will move togetherwhich is the one thing this design could actually test, on one person, at no cost. The corpus has the hypothesis in one document and the instrument in another, and never puts them in the same room.

Purity of Intention as a Safety Standard. That page holds the failure mode this method is built against: a standard stated as an inner condition, which cannot be checked and therefore cannot fail. The dual assessment's whole virtue is that both its columns are external to intention — a scored instrument and an event that either occurred or did not. ⚑⚑ The pairing produces the general rule neither page states alone: a criterion is worth having only if the practitioner can be wrong about it, and the corpus's recurring weakness is criteria that are satisfied by sincerity. This method is the corpus's own answer to itself.

The Live Edge

The method assumes the two columns are measuring compatible things and it never asks what happens if they are not.

Suppose the practice reliably raises the GAD-7 and reliably produces the traditional markers. Suppose it works exactly as the tradition says and makes the practitioner measurably more anxious. ⚑⚑ Nothing in the design says which column wins, and the document's framing — "validates both" — quietly assumes the case will not arise.

🧭 The open question is not empirical but prior to the measurement: what is this practice for?If it is for reduced suffering, the instrument adjudicates and the markers are decoration. If it is for something the instrument does not measure, the instrument is a safety monitor and not an outcome at alland those are two different practices wearing one name.

The tradition has taken a position here and the corpus has not noticed. The volume's two-liberations distinction holds that souls freed by devotion keep a form — eternal but chosen rather than required.8 A path whose endpoint is a chosen condition rather than the cessation of an unwanted one is not aiming at the thing a symptom scale measures.

🧭 Which makes the third column the interesting one to design and the hardest: what would you measure if the goal were not relief? Neither corpus has an answer, and the design that has one is a different book.
