Convergence Read as Descent, Five Times

- Grief Lodged in the Lungs — the TCM Convergence and The Heart as a Ka Within the Body — two of the five places where a resemblance between traditions is explained by transmission from a single origin. vs - The corpus's own physiological mirror method — which, taken seriously, predicts the resemblances without any transmission at all.

The collision

Five times across six weeks, the same shape appears. A doctrine outside the tradition resembles one inside it, and the resemblance is explained as descent: they got it from us.

The Chinese organ-emotion map. The tears-of-the-creator origin of humanity. Palm-tree divination. Third-eye doctrines. Breath as spirit. In each case a transmission route is asserted or implied, and in each case a second explanation is available, sitting in plain view, and is never taken.

The second explanation is the corpus's own method. If a tradition derives its spiritual anatomy by describing the physical organ clinically and reading the function off the structure — which is exactly what this teacher says he does, and says the ancestors did — then any tradition doing the same thing to the same body will land in the same neighbourhood. The lungs empty and refill and sit where the grief sits. The eyes water. The forehead is where the pressure is felt. Two peoples with the same anatomy and the same habit of looking will produce convergent doctrines without ever meeting.

The method predicts convergence. The corpus reaches for descent anyway. Five times.

Candidate idea

A tradition that has been robbed will over-read resemblance as theft, and it will do so precisely where its own best explanation is available and free. Not because the theft claim is false in general — the corpus's grievance about appropriation is not invented — but because a real historical injury calibrates the prior, and a calibrated prior does not switch off for the cases where it is not needed.

The sharper form, and the one that matters beyond this corpus: the explanation you reach for first is a fact about your history, not about the evidence. Two people can hold the same data and split cleanly on convergence-versus-descent, and neither is reasoning badly — they are running different priors, formed by different injuries, on an underdetermined case.

Which means the useful move is never to argue the instance. It is to ask what would distinguish the two explanations before looking, and then to look. Convergence and descent make different predictions about where the resemblance stops: convergent doctrines should agree on gross anatomy and diverge on arbitrary detail; transmitted ones should carry the arbitrary detail across. Nobody in this corpus runs that test, and it is cheap.

What would need to be true
  • Run the arbitrary-detail test on the strongest of the five. TCM's organ-emotion map is the best candidate, because it has non-obvious assignments that a convergent derivation would have no reason to reproduce.
  • Confirm the count. Five is what this build observed across Weeks 1–6; it is a floor, not a total, and no claim is made about material outside the range read.
  • Separate the cases where a transmission route is actually asserted from those where it is merely implied by framing. The strength of the collision depends on which, and the build did not sort them.
