In the middle of a chapter about the heart not testifying against its owner at the weighing, the speaker turns and addresses the organ directly. And what he calls it is odd enough that most readers slide past it:
"You are my ka within my body, forming and making strong my limbs."1
Ka. The word for the divinity in the head — the soul, the seat of consciousness, the component that carries what you are here to do.
He's calling his heart one. Not like one. A second one, in the chest.
Which is a strange thing to say if the heart is a pump. It's a perfectly ordinary thing to say if the heart is understood to think.
The architecture matters here, because the claim only lands if you know where the ka is supposed to live.
On this course's account, the ka is the divinity assigned to you, seated in the head region of the spirit body, holding the blueprint of your function. The physical brain is its shrine. That's settled doctrine in the corpus and documented across the vault's existing Okra material.
So a text that puts a ka in the body — within my body, explicitly distinguished from the one on the head — is describing a second seat of consciousness, positioned at the heart, whose stated job is forming and making strong my limbs.
Odwirafo's gloss: the heart is "like a little ka inside the body, a miniature ka or a consciousness inside the body."1 And if it's a consciousness, then the thing follows that the rest of the tradition assumes — it can be communicated with. Which is why the same chapter opens by invoking it: homage to you, my ab. You don't greet a pump.
Then the convergence, which is what the corpus is really reaching for.
Since the 1990s there has been a research area called neurocardiology, and its founding observation is that the heart contains its own nervous system — a dense network of ganglia, neurons, neurotransmitters and support cells, sufficiently complex that the literature routinely calls it a "little brain in the heart."1
It is not a metaphor in the papers. The intrinsic cardiac nervous system is anatomically real, it processes information locally, and it continues operating when severed from central control — which is why a transplanted heart, with every nerve to the brain cut, still beats and still regulates itself.
Odwirafo's move is to set that beside the funerary line and let the reader draw the conclusion: a text that called the heart a consciousness three thousand years ago was describing something that turned out to be there.
The specific claim he reads out is that the heart communicates with the brain in four ways: neurologically through nerve impulses, biochemically through hormones and neurotransmitters, biophysically through pressure waves, and energetically through electromagnetic field interactions.1
Three of those are uncontroversial. The heart does signal the brain neurally. It does secrete hormones — atrial natriuretic peptide was the finding that made the heart an endocrine organ. Pressure waves are simply mechanics.
The fourth is where the material comes from a specific place, and the page has to say so. The four-channel framing, and much of the surrounding language, originates with the HeartMath Institute — a commercial organisation whose core science on the intrinsic cardiac nervous system is sound but whose claims about energetic cardiac communication carrying emotional information between people are not accepted in the mainstream literature.
So the corpus is reading a mixed source without marking the seam. [PLAUSIBLE — needs corroboration] on the energetic channel specifically; the other three stand.
The single best piece of evidence in the whole convergence is one the corpus reads out and doesn't dwell on.

That is broadly correct, it is genuinely surprising, and it inverts the folk model. The chest is not primarily receiving instructions. It is primarily reporting, and the report is the largest single input the brain receives from below the neck.
Which makes the funerary line look considerably less quaint. A tradition that seated deliberation in the chest and called the heart a consciousness was not making an error later corrected by anatomy. It was weighting a channel that anatomy has since found to be the heaviest one.
The correction the page owes, because the corpus frames this as a recovery and it isn't one.
That the Egyptians located thought, memory, will and character in the heart is not a discovery. It is one of the best-known facts about Egyptian culture. It's in every introductory book. It's why the heart was left in the body during mummification while the brain was discarded — the organ that mattered stayed. It's why the heart is the thing weighed at judgment. Find out what the ancient text actually says, in a current translation, with the surrounding lines. Convergence claims live on isolated phrases, and the phrase usually has neighbours that complicate it.
Then locate the modern claim's source. Not the popular summary — the research programme. Here that means separating the intrinsic cardiac nervous system (mainstream, robust, decades of anatomical work) from the energetic-communication material (a specific institute, contested). A convergence built on the second is a different animal from one built on the first.
Ask whether the ancient claim was specific enough to be vindicated. "The heart is a seat of consciousness" is compatible with a great many findings, and with none. "The heart contains neural tissue that processes information independently" would be a hit. The looser the original, the less the convergence means.
And check whether the ancient view was ever actually abandoned by the people the argument is arguing with. Often — as here — the field never held the position being refuted.

Then the modern material arrives from a popular source, unattributed, with its contested and uncontested portions blended, and gets deployed against a scholarly consensus that doesn't hold the position it's being refuted for.
Set against Odwirafo Source Tensions, this is the documented pattern with an additional layer: not only is the claim overstated, the opponent is invented. And that specific move is self-defeating in a way the others aren't — a reader who checks whether Egyptologists know about the heart finds out in thirty seconds that they do, and the whole convergence is discredited by association with a framing it didn't need.
Embodied Cognition and Moral Judgment. That page documents the finding that judgment is not computed in the head and then reported to the body — bodily state participates in the computation.
