The Experiments That Pre-Register Failure

Most people who set out to test whether a practice works have already decided that it does. The test is a demonstration; the write-up is a testimonial. The honest version — deciding in advance what a negative result would look like, and saying so in writing before you start — is rare in academic work and almost unheard of in personal or spiritual writing.

Two documents in the Hanumanic Strategy corpus do it, in every single experiment they propose, without ever naming what they are doing.1

Five Experiments, Five Named Null Results

The Minimum Viable Dharmic Business Experiments document proposes five week-long tests. Each one has a field headed Learning Outcome, and each Learning Outcome names the disconfirming result as a live possibility.1

The constitutional test"Whether knowing your constitutional type actually helps you make better choices or if it's just another personality framework."

The ethics check"Whether leading with service actually changes business behavior or just makes you feel more ethical."

The competition test"Whether dharmic competition is actually possible or if it's just spiritual bypassing of business reality."

The intention-gap test"Whether conscious intention-setting actually changes business behavior or just creates spiritual theater."

The revenue test"Whether service-first decision making enhances or limits business growth in measurable ways."1

⚑⚑ Five for five. And the null outcomes are not softened. Just another personality framework. Just makes you feel more ethical. Spiritual bypassing. Spiritual theatre. These are the harshest available descriptions of the author's own project, written by the author, before the data exists.

The companion calendar document does the same across twelve weeks, adding the questions in first person: "I honestly don't know if this constitutional stuff is real or just sounds smart" · "Am I building character or just limiting my potential?" · "What's actually shifting vs. what feels like spiritual theater" · and, at the quarter mark, "What I'm keeping, what I'm dropping, and what I'm still confused about."2

Three People Close to Me

The strongest single item is week 8, and it is strong because it leaves the author's own head entirely.

"Ask three people close to me to honestly assess whether my business behavior matches my stated values… Documentation: the feedback I got (even if it stings) and specific examples they gave. Uncomfortable Truth: areas where there's still a gap between what I say and what I do."2

Three properties make this a real instrument rather than a gesture. It is external — the assessors are other people. It is specific — it asks for examples, not impressions. And the discomfort is pre-accepted in writing, which removes the standard escape, since a person who has written "even if it stings" in advance cannot later dismiss a stinging result as unfair.

It is also modest. Three people, once, chosen by the person being assessed, and "close to me" selects for people with an interest in the relationship continuing. But it is the only place in the corpus where somebody other than the author gets to score the author, and that distinction is categorical rather than one of degree.

The Register That Comes With It

These documents are written in a completely different voice from the rest of the folder, and the voice tracks the epistemology exactly.

Section titles: "The Client From Hell Test: Keeping Values When Money's Involved" · "The Competition Experiment: Can You Win Without Being a Dick?" · "The Consistency Reality Check: Am I Actually Walking My Talk?"2 Field labels: Real Talk. Honest Results. Real Numbers. Uncomfortable Truth.

Compare the practice documents in the same folder, whose sections are headed "The Revolutionary Foundation: Content as Consciousness Technology" and "Why This System Creates Unprecedented Value."3

⚑⚑ The correlation is not decorative and it holds without exception across the sixteen: the documents that claim the most are written in the highest register, and the two that claim least are written in the plainest. This is a complete census of the cluster rather than a sample. And the author has ruled on it — the newsletter style guide's ❌ column bans the elevated register and its ✅ column quotes this one.4

What This Answers That the Rest of the Corpus Does Not

Set beside the corpus's other verification mechanisms, these documents supply the property none of the others has: a stated condition under which the author would stop.

The AI-Tantric ethics framework routes the manipulation question to "the purity of intention," which nobody but the influencer can check.5 The Morphological Generator's Nārada test asks whether a generated pattern matches Rāma's behaviour in the epic — external and text-anchored, but the practitioner runs it on himself.6 The Book-as-Curriculum method makes the publishing calendar enforce the practice, which is self-enforcing but tests only whether the practice happened, not whether it worked.7

⚑⚑ Only these two documents ask whether the thing is true, and pre-commit to an answer that would end it.Week 12: "which dharmic business experiments actually improved my life and business… What I'm keeping, what I'm dropping."2

Analytical Case Study: Spiritual Theatre as a Pre-Registered Outcome

Take the intention-gap experiment and follow it, because it is the case where the corpus tests its own central mechanism.

The design. "Each morning, write down three dharmic intentions for your business day. Each evening, rate how well you actually lived them (1–10 scale)… 30-day data set showing the gap between dharmic intentions and actual behavior patterns."1

The stated learning outcome is whether intention-setting "actually changes business behavior or just creates spiritual theater."

⚠⚠ Now notice what is on the table. Intention-setting is not a peripheral practice in this corpus. It is the foundation of nearly every document in the folder — the pre-writing dīkṣā, the sankalpa ignition, the energetic intention before each paragraph, the "purity of intention" that the ethics framework says the whole manipulation question turns on.35

⚑⚑ So a null result here would not falsify a minor technique. It would undercut the mechanism the practice documents are built on. And the author wrote the null outcome down, named it spiritual theatre, and specified a thirty-day quantitative test with a daily rating scale.

That is the corpus's best moment on its own terms, better than the SWOT this build has previously singled out — because the SWOT concedes a business fact (four paid subscribers, $465 a year) whereas this puts the spiritual method itself at risk.8

And the result is not in the corpus. The experiment is designed, not reported.Which is the honest bound on the whole finding: what these documents demonstrate is excellent design, and nothing in the sixteen shows the experiments were run.

The Aṅka's Evidentiary Method, Reached Without It

The volume this build has spent five phases reading states an evidentiary method exactly once, and it is the same one.

Testimony is ranked by the interest of the witness: the subject's own account lowest, contemporaries next, and adversaries highest, on the ground that a hostile witness has no motive to flatter.9

⚑⚑ Week 8 is that method, rebuilt. It demotes self-report — the author's confidence that he is living his values — and promotes the assessment of others. It does not reach the adversarial tier: "three people close to me" is the contemporaries rank, not the opponents rank. The volume's own standard is stricter than the corpus's independent reconstruction of it.

And there is a second convergence, sharper. This build's governing finding from phase 1B is that the corpus, believing itself to be departing from tradition, could not go looking for the tradition's limits — so Rāmsukhdās's behavioural test for inflation went unfound rather than rejected. That test asks not whether the practitioner feels humble but whether the serving continues undiminished: check the conduct, not the report.10

Week 8 is that test. The corpus built it from scratch, in a business newsletter, for the same reason the tradition built it — because self-assessment of one's own spiritual condition is the thing that most reliably fails.

The One Instruction That Breaks the Discipline

And in the same document, two paragraphs from "Hard data about business performance," there is one instruction that runs the other way.

The Constitutional Comparison Approach. "Even if you primarily identify with one constitutional type, document how you imagine someone with different constitutional tendencies might experience the same experiment differently. This provides broader value for readers with different temperaments."1

That is imagined data, offered to readers as content, inside the document with the strictest empirical standards in the corpus.Nothing marks the seam. The Business Impact Correlation Method — "track specific business metrics… concrete data about whether ethical approaches enhance or limit business performance" — appears in the same section, in the same register.1

⚑⚑ This is the cluster's third instance of non-uniform rigour presented in a uniform voice, after the book outline's real clinical citation beside "multiple scholarly sources" with none named, and the meditation document's careful safety rail beside four quotations attributed to a book that cannot contain them.11In all three cases the failure is not the presence of the weak material but the absence of any signal at the point where the standard changes.

Implementation Workflow

Write the null result before the experiment, in the harshest available words. The corpus's version — "or just creates spiritual theater" — works precisely because it is unflattering. A softly-phrased null outcome is one you can talk yourself past; a contemptuous one is not.

Pre-accept the discomfort in writing."Even if it stings" is doing real work: it commits the author, in advance, to a response he will not want to make when the moment arrives.

And mark the seam whenever the standard changes. If a paragraph of measured data is followed by a paragraph of informed guessing, say so in the sentence between them. The reader cannot tell from the prose, and neither can you, six months later.

Evidence, Tensions, Open Questions

⭐⭐⭐ SOURCE-UPDATE, 2026-08-18 — TWO DOCUMENTS BECOMES FOUR, AND THE DISCIPLINE IS NOT CONFINED TO BUSINESS. This page was built from the corpus's two business-experiment documents, and phase 8 read the pattern accordingly: the rigour appears exactly where the stakes vanish.Phase 9a found the spiritual twins, and they are stronger.

Minimum Viable Spiritual Experiments for Personal Documentation proposes eight weekly experiments, and every What to Write About prompt names the disconfirming outcome first: "whether fasting actually improves mental clarity for business or just creates spiritual theater"* · "whether mantra practice actually improves focus and efficiency or just makes work feel more meaningful"* · "whether serving others actually enhances business motivation or depletes energy for professional work"* · "whether meditation actually improves business thinking or just makes you feel more spiritual"* · and two further nulls on silence and gratitude. Six in one document.

⭐⭐ And it carries a five-field Honest Assessment Structure that is a pre-registration form in everything but name: Pre-Experiment Expectations"what you think the practice will do and why you're trying it, including any skepticism or resistance you have"* · Daily Experience Tracking, including resistance · Business Impact Correlation · Honest Results Evaluation"what actually changed versus what you expected, including disappointments"* · Reader Value Extraction, for readers "seeking authentic development rather than spiritual bypassing." Closing on the standard outright: "…honest exploration of how dharmic practices actually affect business effectiveness rather than making claims about spiritual superiority or universal truths."

Long-Term Spiritual Development: Multi-Year Integration & Maturity Tracking runs four further pre-registered nulls, one per developmental phase: "most people discover that they're less spiritually mature than they imagined" · "testing whether spiritual maturity actually improves your business effectiveness or simply makes you feel better about yourself"* · "whether your spiritual development creates authentic leadership qualities or simply reinforces spiritual ego and superiority"* · "whether your spiritual maturity creates authentic teaching capacity or simply increases your desire to be seen as spiritually advanced."* ⚑ Each is stated before the phase it governs, so the document commits in advance to a finding it might not like.

⚠⚠ THE PHASE-8 READING NEEDS RESTATING AND IS NOT SETTLED HERE.These two documents have the highest stakes in the corpus — they govern what goes out under the author's name to paying readers — and they are its most rigorous.Candidate re-statement, offered as hypothesis at [n=3 rigorous · n=2 lax]: the rigour appears where the author imagines a reader who could check him.It predicts something checkable in the forty-four unread documents and should be tested there rather than adopted.

The corpus's opposite pole is eight files away: a document that scores itself 100/100 with "zero spiritual blind spots" and closes by asking its reader whether they would like to explore further.12Same author, same period. The difference is whether anyone was expected to read it.

⚑⚑ And the instrument has not been run. Across sixty-one folder documents and roughly 103,000 words there is no first-person report of any experiment being performedwhich makes this page's subject the corpus's most complete unexecuted plan rather than its practice.

Sources. Minimum Viable Dharmic Business Experiments and For the Victors: Dharma-Based Content Calendar System, both read in full 2026-08-15, and the other fourteen documents of the cluster.12 personal-notes.

Bounded, and this is the load-bearing bound. These are experimental designs. No results are reported anywhere in the sixteen documents.Nothing here establishes that the experiments were run, that the data was collected, or that anything was dropped. The finding is about the quality of the design and the honesty of the pre-registration, and it does not extend past that.

A second bound. The register correlation is a complete census of this cluster of sixteen, not of the corpus's 106 documents.

🔴 Preserved. The corpus holds two accounts of where authority comes from, and this material sits on one side of the split: "Rather than claiming expertise you don't have" against the practice documents' "unshakeable authority based on actual spiritual accomplishment."3 Unreconciled in the source.

Open question.Did the thirty-day intention-gap experiment ever run, and what did it show? A null result would bear directly on the mechanism most of the corpus rests on. Outside this build's sources.

Author Tensions & Convergences

The same author wrote the strictest and the loosest documents in the folder, and the two never meet.

This forecloses the reading that the corpus's weaker epistemics reflect a writer who does not know better. He demonstrably does — five pre-registered nulls, a thirty-day quantitative design, and an external assessment with the sting pre-accepted.What determines the standard is the genre, not the capacity.

⚑⚑ And the direction of the split is the uncomfortable part, established on the ethics page and confirmed here from the other side. The strict epistemology is applied where the only person at risk is the author — his own business, his own values, his own money. The loose one is applied where readers' minds are the object. The corpus verifies hardest exactly where verification matters least to anyone but him.

Cross-Domain Handshakes

Testimony Sorted by Source. That page holds the Aṅka's one stated evidentiary method — testimony ranked by the interest of the witness, self lowest and adversaries highest — together with the volume's own failures to apply it.9 ⚑⚑ Set against week 8, the pairing produces what neither yields alone: a fifty-year, cross-linguistic, independent rediscovery of the same principle, and a measurable shortfall in the reconstruction. The corpus reaches the contemporaries rank and stops; the volume names the adversary rank as the strongest. Which supplies a concrete upgrade the corpus could adopt tomorrow — ask somebody who does not like you — and identifies why it will not occur to a solo practitioner: the adversarial rank requires an adversary, and a person building a practice alone has no institutional one.

Purity of Intention as a Safety Standard. That page shows the corpus routing its ethics question to an unauditable inner state while holding a falsifiable effect-test in the same file. The pairing yields the general rule this build had not stated: the corpus's verification quality is predicted almost perfectly by who bears the risk.Where the author's own money and self-image are exposed, he builds external, falsifiable, pre-registered instruments. Where the exposure falls on readers, he builds introspection. That is not hypocrisy — it is the ordinary shape of self-interest in verification design, and naming it as a pattern makes it correctable in a way that naming it as a lapse does not.

The Live Edge

The best material in this corpus is the material that would have destroyed it.

A thirty-day rating scale on whether intention-setting changes behaviour is not a safe experiment. The practice documents' entire apparatus — the dīkṣā, the sankalpa, the energetic charging, the purity criterion — rests on the claim that setting an intention does something. And the author designed the test that would show it does not, and named the failure state spiritual theatre.

⚑⚑ Which raises a question this build cannot answer and should not pretend to. The experiments are designed and no results appear anywhere in the corpus. There are innocent explanations — they were run and written up in the newsletter, outside these sources; or they were designed and life intervened. There is also the uncomfortable one, that a test designed with this much honesty is easier to design than to finish.

What can be said is narrower and still worth saying. The corpus contains the instrument that would have adjudicated its own central claim, built to a standard most published work does not reach, in a document nobody would think to look in.And nothing in the other fifteen files ever mentions it.
