You want to do a thing. Somebody tells you to wait until Thursday, and to use a piece of iron rather than a piece of copper, and to say a particular angel's name while you do it. Where does any of that come from, and why should Thursday and iron and that angel belong together?
They come from one planet. That is the whole of what the sixth discipline supplies, and it is the piece without which most of this curriculum's instructions look arbitrary. What it supplies is a chain of equivalences. Planets correspond to metals, days of the week, archangels, angels, celestial beings, intelligences and spirits.1 And then one more link that lifts the whole thing: they also correspond to the Ten Sephiroth, and as a result they are intricately related to the aspects and attributes of the Divine.
Take that list slowly, because it is the operating instruction behind half the practical material in this curriculum.
Pick a planet. It has a metal you can hold, a day you can wait for, an archangel you can name, lesser angels beneath that, other celestial beings, an intelligence, and a spirit. Seven different kinds of thing, and every one of them is a way of getting at the same power. Want what that planet does? Wear its metal. Work on its day. Say its archangel's name. Do all three at once and you have stacked three handles on one object.
The Sephira at the end of the chain is what makes it more than a filing system. A planet is not just a light in the sky with associations attached; it is one of ten faces of the divine, seen from underneath. Which is why a metal worn at the throat can be described as carrying authority rather than as carrying a metal.
The syllabus is honest about what this takes. Planets are associated with a wide range of subjects that with time and dedication the Apprentice shall know by heart and will be able to use in the future. Memorised, not looked up.
Fixed stars get their own paragraph, and their treatment is different from the planets in one specific way. The ancient Arabs knew the stars were important and managed to catalogue them. Each of these stars, like the planets, has correspondences — but the correspondences named are not metals and days. They relate to daily activities, situation and states, and they carry associations with several mystic entities, beings and powers that can be used to better one's life.
Activities, situations, states. That is a finer grain than a planet gives you. A planet governs a domain; a star, on this account, attaches to something more like a circumstance you might actually be in.
Then the instruction: many of these stars have very interesting stories, myths and legends that the apprentice should do well in learning, because these will be very useful in the future. Which is the mythology discipline reappearing with a job — the myth is how you find out what the star does.
The one piece of doctrine this entry insists on is a division, and it cuts the sky in two along a line most astrology does not use. Constellations divide into the regular twelve of the zodiac and the ones outside it. Then the working distinction: the influences of a constellation correspond heavily on its elementary quality — there are whole groups that represent Fire, Earth, Air and Water — and these are the Zodiacal, whereas the non-elementary are the Sidereal.
The split is not really about where a constellation sits. It is about whether it carries an element. Fire, Earth, Air and Water are the four this practice runs its whole instrument set on: four weapons, four towers, four quarters, four worlds. A constellation that carries one of them plugs straight into that machinery. A constellation that does not, does not.
So the sky sorts into things this system can already address and things it cannot. Twelve signs are inside the elemental grammar. Everything else — Orion, the Bears, the Serpent, all of it — is a second category, still influential, still tied to intelligences and heavenly entities, but outside the four-element architecture that every ritual in this curriculum is built on.
Nothing anywhere says what you do with a sidereal constellation. It is named as a category and then dropped.
The scope claimed is wide, and it is worth having in front of you because it is broader than a horoscope. Planets, stars and constellations are believed to influence the world we live on, the individual, the natural environment, the animals, and even societies as a whole. And constellations specifically are said to have a great deal of influence over people, groups, cultures and nations.
Groups, cultures, nations. Almost everything else in this practice operates on one person at a time — a charm cast on a recipient, a stone given to somebody, a circle drawn around a house. Here the unit is a country.
That scale is asserted and never used. No formula anywhere in the working material addresses a nation, and no ritual is keyed to a constellation's national influence. The claim sits in the reading list without a corresponding technique.
The predictive method gets one sentence and it is more precise than the usual telling. They are believed to affect the daily occurrences of mortals from the day they were born, and this is important because by knowing the actual position of a stellar body in respect to the actual positions the planets had the day the student was born, predictions could be made relating to current situations, and events could be harboured or avoided altogether.
The operative word is in respect to. What you read is not where a planet is now, and not where it was at your birth. It is the relation between the two — today's position measured against the fixed set you were born under.
Which makes a birth chart a baseline rather than a portrait. And the payoff named is not knowledge but steering: events could be harboured or avoided. You look in order to move.
Memorise the planetary chains. For each planet: its metal, its day, its archangel, its angels, its other celestial beings, its intelligence, its spirit, and its Sephira. Eight facts each, and the instruction is explicitly to know them by heart rather than to be able to find them.
Get your own natal positions and keep them. Everything predictive here is a comparison between where a body is now and where the set stood on the day you were born, so the birth set is the reference you will use for the rest of your life. Sort every constellation you meet into one of the two boxes. Does it carry Fire, Earth, Air or Water? Then it is Zodiacal and it connects to the four-element machinery you already have. Does it not? Then it is Sidereal, and this curriculum gives you nothing further to do with it.
Learn the star stories. Not as decoration — the myth is where a fixed star's activities, situations and states are recorded, and there is no table of them anywhere here. And use the correspondences by stacking them. The point of one planet having seven handles is that you can take hold of more than one at a time: the metal on the body, the day on the calendar, the name in the mouth.

The historical detail checks out. Arab and Persian astronomers did catalogue and name the fixed stars extensively — al-Sufi's tenth-century Book of Fixed Stars is the standard reference, and most bright stars still carry Arabic names. ⚠ The entry opens by calling the discipline Astronomy and then describes astrology throughout, including in its own heading. Each planet has a metal, a day, a name and a Sephira, all of them handles on one power, and the practitioner's job is to memorise which handle opens what. Follow the influence claims in the same entry and the sky is weather. Planets, stars and constellations act on the individual, the animals, the environment and whole nations, from birth onward, whether anybody is paying attention or not.
The two pull in opposite directions on the question of who is acting. In the first, the practitioner reaches up and takes hold. In the second, the practitioner is one of the things being pushed — and the only response offered is to look ahead so that events can be harboured or avoided.
