Advanced Wizardry - Map of Content

What This Hub Covers

One book, taught as a course. Abechai's Advanced Wizardry opens with a cosmology, hands you a reading list, has you build a single instrument you then live inside for the rest of the training, and only much later gives you anything you can say out loud. The 165 pages here follow that order.

The hub is organised as a developmental arc - the sequence the course itself teaches in, badged foundational, intermediate and advanced. Read top to bottom and you get the curriculum. Drop in anywhere and the section orientation tells you what you are standing in.

Core insight: everything printed in this book is the solo version. One person, a quiet room, minimal materials. The collective tier - eight to thirty-six wizards raising a Temple together - is named in three footnotes and never taught, and so is every part of the practice a page cannot carry: the symbol you would have to see, the hand position you would have to be shown, the pronunciation you would have to hear.

How to Navigate This Hub

The two foundational sections are prerequisites in the real sense: the rings, the weapons and the whole spellbook are unreadable without the four worlds and the eight potentials. The intermediate sections are the instrument and the materials, and they can be taken in any order once the sphere is understood. The advanced sections are the operative half - the voice, the four sizes of working, the ten schools, the two printed levels, and the trades a practitioner ends up in.

The Cosmos This Practice Assumes

Where it all starts. What magic is said to be, why a Source needs a First God to stand between it and the world, the four worlds everything is built in, and the forces and laws that run underneath every later technique.

  • Magic as the Second Self — magic as the first thing's awareness of itself, and a wizard borrowing that awareness at the far end of a long chain | density: high | sources: 1
  • Why the Source Needs a First God — the First God as the Source at a size the universe can survive, made that size deliberately, and the reason given is mercy | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Four Worlds as an Operating Procedure — the four worlds as a failure diagnostic: anything started and never spoken is still sitting in the third world, formed and unfinished | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Four Worlds Hold Four Things — numbers to addition to geometric expansion to the shell of a nautilus, in four steps | density: high | sources: 1
  • Space as a Sheet and Time as Its Wrinkles — a flat sheet is a stopped clock, so a where and a when are one condition stated twice | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Magical Spectrum — seven bands, a working spellbook that covers the first three, and every ceiling in the volume explained at once | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Archprimes — an administered elemental world with named hierarchs, and coined names with no external attestation | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Two Hidden Pillars — two diagonals crossing at Tiphareth, putting three pillars through one station | density: medium | sources: 1
  • Thirty-Two Universal Laws, and How to Nullify One — which laws are currently backing an object, and what follows from a law being present only while its conditions hold | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Eleven Primordial and Four Primary Forces — two forces make eight behaviours, eight make eleven pairs, eleven make four elemental laws; morality enters at tier three | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Eight Universal Potentials — the thirty-two as a few intentions crossed with the ways of achieving them | density: high | sources: 1
  • Additus and Nihilus — The Eight Verbs — why a cure is filed under the destroying force, and what that does to the system's morality | density: high | sources: 1

The Eight Fields of Study

The reading list, treated as the practice itself rather than as preparation for it. Eight fields studied properly, plus the four stated goals the whole course is pointed at.

The Philosophical Sphere and Its Rings

The central instrument a practitioner builds and then lives inside. What it is made of, why it exists at all, how it gets charged, and the rings that get filled one at a time.

  • The Sphere Is a Thought-Form — a construct born from the wizard's own mind, whose power scales with how much they understand | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Philosophical Sphere Solves a Latency Problem — the sphere as a topology change on a ten-station pipeline, not a power source | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Quickening of the Philosophical Sphere — the rite that quietly enforces a requirement nothing states as a rule: every ring recalled aspect by aspect, from memory | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Four Cosmogonic Aspects in the Sphere — the light repels by seniority rather than by force, and the practitioner does nothing while it happens | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Eight Magical Directions — a filter, not an amplifier: the universe answers only where something was placed | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Eight-Fold Manifold — a six-fold world contained inside an eight-fold sphere, offered as the mechanism of magical power | density: high | sources: 1
  • Two Power Supplies and a Gearbox — conduct as wiring: three rings charged by righteousness, four by the universe, and Esophoros interlocking them | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Energy Economy of Philius and Neikos — nothing is generated, so every operation is a transfer with a direction and a stated cost | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Ring of Virtues — virtues glossed by what they do rather than why they are right: resentment hands control away, pessimism manifests | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Ring of Values — the claim that working singlehandedly against evil spurs the darkest pits, in a curriculum built for one person | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Ring of Statutes — the outward half of the inner supply, and the statute that turns promises into unfinished spells | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Ring of Deities — a wrong deity darkening the sphere and bending the wizard's morality, rather than producing a failed working | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Archetype Ring Buys Order by Shutting Doors — a ring that works by occupancy, so what it excludes is everything unchosen | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Esophoros Ring and the Lumen Score — thirty-two concepts priced 8, 6, 4 and 2; you choose eight; the sum is your sphere's Lumen | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Eight Furnaces — the furnace colours as the spectrum in order, root to crown, so a colour is a position on a scale | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Charge-and-Project Drill — ten schools, one exercise: five minutes of breath, ten minutes of a two-stroke charge, then the right hand forward | density: high | sources: 1

Number as an Instrument

Quantity treated as something you can pick up and use. One through ten, the figures they draw, the solids they fill, and the ladder that runs above ten.

  • A Word Is a Number Is a Code — speech addressed to nobody: a word is a number, the number a code, and the code resonates with what it belongs to | density: high | sources: 1
  • Numbers as Broadcast Devices — a grid is a transmitter, and the Master Numbers ladder from the material world to godhood | density: high | sources: 1
  • Number One and the Monogram — a one-word spell is not a short spell, it is the number One performed | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Radial Tension — two objects facing, seen daily, with the incantation repeated twice every two hours until it manifests | density: medium | sources: 1
  • Three and the Act of Synthesis — a third thing entirely independent of the two that made it, and a triangle traced over what has stalled | density: medium | sources: 1
  • Number Four and the Tetractys — the cross expels nothing; it fills a space until there is no room left | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Elemental Pentagram and the Doctrine of Five — knowing the path is wrong and lacking the will to leave it, and the Hierophant's gate on transformation | density: high | sources: 1
  • Six and the Union of Opposites — six minutes inside a star, three times a day, and a schedule that is really a decay rate | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Seven-Pointed Star — one holy name behind every seven, and a sword that cuts and escorts at the same threshold | density: medium | sources: 1
  • Nine, and What Will Not Descend by Itself — three aspects through three worlds, stopping one floor above the one you live in | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Ten Fingers as a Planetary Keyboard — the whole Tree on two hands, Mercy right and Severity left, addressed by thumb to finger | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Master Numbers — nine rungs to godhood, and the only stated rule is that craving the last one disqualifies you | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Platonic Solids as Containers — cages for elementals, five forbidden materials, and the one solid you may not set alone | density: medium | sources: 1

The Four Weapons

Cup, disc, blade and rod. Where each one comes from, what each is for, the named aspects each can be charged into, and the ladder they are ranked on.

  • Four Weapons From Four Divine Essences — the essences as what make God describable, and the instruments as their physical ends | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Ladder of Weapons — dagger, sword, scepter — with the only gate placed at the rung that hands an unfinished student the most dangerous weapon | density: medium | sources: 1
  • Every Weapon Has a Shadow List — the negative column as half of what the instrument is, not a warning about misuse | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Chalice Is a Curve — the cup's power as an argument about geometry: a curve that never reaches its axis accumulates instead of arriving | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Uses and Types of Chalices — eight cups and you only own one; drinking is what closes the circuit | density: high | sources: 1
  • Why a Pentacle Is Written On — the quintessence answered as a sound: the fifth essence after Thought, the sound that becomes Light | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Uses and Types of Pentacles — the one weapon that cannot be reused, because the operation is written on it | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Sword and the Unseen — one property doing all the work: air cannot be seen, and neither can a thought | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Uses and Types of Swords — thirty-six inches, no gory decoration, and authority produced by a shape being recognised | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Wand Carries All Four Worlds — the wand as the Middle Pillar, so four worlds run through it at once and coagulate into one burst | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Uses and Types of Wands — gather, channel, focus, release; the traced sigil aims it and the spoken word lets it go | density: high | sources: 1
  • Consecration Charges in Sunlight — the one procedure depending on conditions outside the practitioner: twenty-one hours of sun across seven straight days | density: high | sources: 1

Metals, Stones and the Body

The seven planetary metals and the gemstone protocols. What each metal is for, where it goes on a person, and the courtesies a stone is owed before it will work.

Plants, Oils and Smoke

The materials you prepare yourself. What has to be asked before it is cut, what has to be made rather than bought, and what burning something does to a room.

  • Asking a Plant Before You Cut It — the only consent procedure here that ends with the practitioner handing something over | density: high | sources: 1
  • Oils Carry Incantations to Other People — the one material that must be made, and the anointing map that puts it on a body | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Drop Counts Are Not Arbitrary — a census of 45 drop specifications; the counts cluster by recipe rather than by function | density: medium | sources: 1
  • Fumigation — twenty-three of forty incenses exist to remove or repel, so the room is not assumed to be empty and waiting | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Smoking Censer — a two-minute instrument for spiritual states, emotions and the mind, whose ashes cannot be buried at home | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Anatomy of a Candle — body as the world, wick as the wizard, fire as the divine, flame as the two wills together | density: medium | sources: 1

The Working Room

The space itself and the things standing in it. The altar and its towers, the clothing that removes you from the room, the vessels, and what the drills actually ask of your attention.

  • The Altar and the Four Towers — a protective boundary made of four towers the operator imagines, with nothing drawn and nothing placed | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Hood Dissolves the Individual — with the hood on, that person is no longer the individual but a representation of the divine | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Water Vase — two formulas, one to open the channel and one for the wit to read what comes down it | density: medium | sources: 1
  • Scrying Devices Are Relay Points — the information exists in the tension between the wizard and the device, in neither one | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Eleven-Day Crystal — eleven consecutive days at the same hour, a noon on a high place, and a thirty-day penalty for breaking the chain | density: high | sources: 1
  • What the Drills Ask of the Senses — step three forbids the images step four commands; nobody is ever told to smell anything | density: high | sources: 1

Runes, Cards and the Name You Are Given

The sign systems you read rather than cast, and the two names a practitioner ends up carrying: the one they choose out loud and the one nobody else hears.

  • Odin Paid Twice for the Runes — the eye bought wisdom and did not buy the runes; the carving is what frees him | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Three Initiatic Keys — twenty-four signs cut into three ættir, each rune a reading and a carried talisman at once | density: medium | sources: 1
  • Reading Runes by Orientation — the runes that show nothing are counted, and the count says how far to yield | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Tarot as a Set of Talismans — seven shuffles, six crosses, and a sixteen-card spread with a sacrifice built into it | density: high | sources: 1
  • Reading Your Own Name in Numbers — the only fully worked demonstration in the volume, and it confirms itself | density: high | sources: 1
  • Choosing a Magical Name — Abrelin casts and Peter does not, and a third name told to nobody including the mentor | density: high | sources: 1
  • Celestial Names Are Verbs Plus EL — an angel's name as a verb naming what it does plus a divine half built from one letter repeated three times | density: medium | sources: 1

The Voice and the Act of Casting

Why speech is the thing that does the work, the four registers a voice gets trained in, and everything that has to be true around a printed formula before it will run.

  • The Logos Across Four Traditions — image gave us Reason and likeness gave us Voice, and the Voice is the only channel that was ever open | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Four Magical Voices — registers defined partly by being kept out of ordinary speech, so the discipline is abstinence as much as skill | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Voice of Prayer — the only voice with no specification, because the specification is you | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Voice of Magic — clarity before power, because the beings obey what they recognise rather than who speaks | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Voice of Ceremony — two audiences at once, and the second one never leaves the room | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Voice of Ritual — the practitioner is joined to the structures first, and only then is formation tuned | density: high | sources: 1
  • Fewer Words Reach Heaven Faster — one word is a True Word; two must be assimilated by the sphere before they descend | density: high | sources: 1
  • Magic Words Must Be in the Present Tense — the tense rule as an addressing rule: a present-tense verb has somewhere to attach and a future one does not | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Casting Syntax — school word, incantation, magic word: every spell in the book is printed incomplete | density: high | sources: 1
  • Six Conditions Before You Speak — five conditions and one act, with memorisation moving the words two worlds up | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Psalm as a Power Source — three reasons of three different kinds, and the psalm is absorbed into the spell before it is spoken | density: high | sources: 1
  • Magical Symbols, Somatic Movements and Sekinoth — four elemental aspects of casting, two of them named and withheld | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Formula Grammar — eleven exorcisms are eleven fillings of one sentence, and one still carries the old value | density: high | sources: 1
  • The NN Slot — variable substitution documented once, in a footnote, and relied on everywhere | density: medium | sources: 1
  • Two Incantations Carry Everything — 23 and 21 references against a long tail; the reading order is not the working order | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Magical Levels of an Incantation — a level is a price, and the gate on every higher one is a being made from your own life force | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Assistance Economy — spell level is a headcount of allies, and the first is made from the wizard's own life force | density: high | sources: 1

The Four Orders of Working

Orison, Artificium, Conjuration and Ritual. The four sizes an operation comes in, and the calendar the largest ones are run against.

The Ten Schools of Magic

The architecture the spellbook is sorted by, and what each of the ten schools claims as its own ground.

  • The Ten Schools as One Architecture — the schools as a filing system built by sorting existing incantations by effect, not a division of reality | density: high | sources: 1
  • The School of Alterations — the school that works on events that have not happened, and the real address an unmanifested event is said to have | density: high | sources: 1
  • The School of Benedictions — object, person, place, self — and the blessing aimed back at the wizard is named the most powerful | density: high | sources: 1
  • The School of Divinations — divination reading what alteration can rewrite, so a prediction is a report on an editable object | density: high | sources: 1
  • The School of Enchantments — what is trained is a property of the voice, so once the throat is charged every ordinary word carries magical energy | density: high | sources: 1
  • The School of Healings — illness treated as an occupying enemy, and what that framing sets in the technique | density: high | sources: 1
  • The School of Invocations — the ladder that changes what the wizard is: a plead is a prayer, an impetration is an operation | density: high | sources: 1
  • The School of Lights — a school separated from its neighbours by intent alone, sharing planet, station and focal point | density: high | sources: 1
  • The School of Naturals — what leaves the body is a picture of an element rather than the element, and the drill answers for it | density: high | sources: 1
  • The School of Protections — the two operations a solitary practitioner cannot perform, in a curriculum written for one person alone | density: high | sources: 1
  • The School of Conjurations — summoning as resonance rather than request, and what that removes from the being's side | density: high | sources: 1

The First-Level Spellbook

Ten sets of printed incantations at the level an apprentice is allowed, each with its effects, its stated limits, its psalms and its celestials.

The Second-Level Spellbook

The upper tier of what is actually printed. The charms reach further here, and the conditions attached to them get heavier at the same rate.

  • Second Level Alterations: Mutatios — charge a stone clockwise and say the activity in a very slow voice | density: high | sources: 1
  • Second Level Benedictions: Benedicci — five limits of five different kinds, and an elemental blessing that gives you four places rather than four powers | density: high | sources: 1
  • Second Level Divinations: Vates — the trap-detector returns the motive, which is why it is useless against a rotten floorboard | density: high | sources: 1
  • Second Level Enchantments: Ensalmos — three rescues for people who cannot tell they were got at, and eight workings sealed in one object | density: high | sources: 1
  • Second Level Healing: Curo — the only hospital instruction in four hundred pages, and a charm that admits it only damps the signal | density: high | sources: 1
  • Second Level Invocations: Apelos — communicate what comes through the channel, never how it came; a book with no lineage is what that produces | density: high | sources: 1
  • Second Level Lights: Iluminos — three conditions guard a knowledge channel and none guards the charm that eradicates people | density: high | sources: 1
  • Second Level Naturals: Telurikos — cast five full days after the first snow; the only working timed off something you have to be there to see | density: high | sources: 1
  • Second Level Protections: Guardos — the fear charm hides the heart rather than adding courage, and the monsters lose their grip | density: high | sources: 1
  • Second Level Conjurations: Conjuros — the hero judges whether your fight is just, and you begin to resemble whoever you called | density: high | sources: 1

The Ten Wizardly Trades

What a practitioner eventually becomes. Ten specialisations, each with its own work, its own reading, and its own stated endpoint.

  • The Wizardly Trades — trades as what general skills turned into once an interest kept pulling, rather than tracks a student picks | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Arcanist — the trade that runs trials and publishes its failures, in a corpus where no failure is recorded | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Bestiologist — eight creature categories, six sorting principles, and the claim that reading about a thing makes it likelier to come | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Conjurer — depth or breadth, an exile that expires, and the one permanent act: shutting a gate for good | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Diviner — an artificial eye whose main ingredient is the eye of a White Bull, specified entirely in a footnote | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Healer — medical training named first among the requirements, and healing by proximity named last | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Kabbalist — the secret study of how incantations come to be, held by one trade in a volume that prints seventy-eight of them | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Magus — the trade with no answers, ending on the largest claim in the book: guiding humanity invisibly | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Planemaster — planes made of laws that shape the planes made of places, stated once and never used | density: high | sources: 1
  • The Praetor — the dark arts studied on purpose, combat training explicitly not for fighting, and armour worn always | density: medium | sources: 1
  • The Templar — the secret of composing rites, six components and a rule that appears nowhere in the volume | density: high | sources: 1

What the Course Withholds

The stated ceilings, the silence conditions, and the one practice handed to a beginner precisely because there is nothing they can do with it.

Key Tensions in This Area

A mandate to publish failures, and no failures published. The Arcanist is obliged to advise the community on what did not work. Four hundred pages contain no trial, no negative result, and an unusual density of exclusions that read exactly like disappointments generalised into rules - see The Failures That Became Limits.

Two kinds of interlock, only one of which binds. Some limits are the mechanism seen from the side: a remembering zone with nothing to remember does nothing. Others are motive gates with no named evaluator - it will naturally not work - and they sit on the two charms most obviously open to abuse. The Interlocks That Check Themselves.

A tradition that survives only in its own footnotes. No lineage is named, nothing is quoted, no order is identified, and the collective practice the book classifies its entire contents against appears nowhere but in three notes about which altar to use. Everything Printed Is the Solo Version.

Counts that do not match their own headings. Twelve dimensions of a conjuration are announced and ten are given. Eight parts of an Orison are named and three are printed. These are preserved on the pages as stated, not reconciled.

Everybody has one. Something you worked out in full — you knew what it was, what it was for, roughly how it would go — and then you never said it to anyone and never started it.
