Six and the Union of Opposites

How Would You Know Something Was Wrong Before Anything Showed?

A room you walk into and immediately want to leave. A situation that has not gone wrong yet and already feels wrong. The number six is the one attached to that faculty, and the claim made for it is unusually specific.

Working with six is said to bestow the ability to be connected with the ebbs of the universe, and from that connection three particular capacities: to feel disturbances in the magical realm, to perceive the imperceptible, and to be able to read the symbols and signs of the heavens and the earth.1 The drill for it takes six minutes and you do it three times a day.

Three Above, Three Below

Six is called the power of the union of opposites, and what gets united is this system's own cosmology, split into halves. The Three Higher Cosmogonic Concepts are the First Divine, Magic and Definite Act — the three things that exist before anything is made. The Three Lesser Cosmological Concepts are the First Crown, the Tree of Life and the World of Manifestation — the three stages by which what exists gets built out.

Put the two triples together and they form the Star of David, or the Shield of Solomon, which is described as blessed beyond comparison, bestowing protection, power, life and wisdom. So the six-pointed star is not a decorative pairing of triangles here. It is a diagram of the whole system: what was there before creation, laid across what creation turned into, meeting in the middle.

The Six Around Tiphareth

The number has a second reading on the Tree of Life, and it is the same shape from another angle. Six represents the lesser sephiroth which surround Tiphareth — the sephira of Consciousness, Beauty and Truth, and itself the sixth on the Tree. The six around it are Chesed, Geburah, Netzach, Hod, Yesod and Malkuth, which together give Mercy, Strength, Victory, Glory, Firmness and Kingship over the natural world.

That is the same station the two hidden pillars cross at, and the same one the whole system calls the centre for magical practice. So the number six describes what surrounds the point everything else converges on — and the six qualities listed are a working practitioner's virtues rather than cosmic principles. Alongside that sits the Sun's half of the correspondence, which is where the practical uses come from. Six carries brilliance, illumination, holiness and sacredness, and as a power of the Sun it means clarity, the ability to see through deceptions, and the power to rebuke evil by the emanation of the burning lights of the Sun.

Analytical Case Study — Three Times a Day, Six Minutes

The drill is short to describe and demanding to keep, and it is one of the few exercises in this material with a full schedule attached.

See yourself surrounded by the six pointed Star of David, and this star surrounded by a golden circle of light. That is the entire visualisation. No breath count, no posture, no words, no gesture.

Then the schedule. This must be done several times a day, at least three times, and the visualization held for at least six minutes. Eighteen minutes a day, in three separate sittings, indefinitely. Set that against the school drills, which run five minutes of breath and ten of charging in a single session, and against the wisdom candle at five minutes daily. This is the most frequent practice in the curriculum, and the only one that requires you to stop three times between morning and night.

The reason the schedule has to be that shape follows from what the visualisation is. You are not charging a store or building a structure that persists. You are putting yourself inside an envelope, and the envelope is made of your attention. The moment the six minutes end, the only thing keeping the star around you is the memory that you put it there — which is presumably why once a day is not the instruction.

And the stated payoff is not protection, even though the star is called a shield. It is perception: connection with the ebbs of the universe, disturbances felt, the imperceptible perceived, signs read. The practice is a shield that makes you more sensitive rather than less exposed.

A Cube With Creation Inside It

The strangest claim in this section is about space, and it needs its own paragraph because it is easy to skate past. Six represents the directions of the Universe — up, down, and the four sides — so it is associated with space. But not ordinary space: the space of the Spirit, in which a practitioner can grow to seemingly unlimited levels, if they truly follow the ways of Light, Order and Goodness. The conditional is stated rather than implied.

Then this: the space in question is not just physical space, but the actual place where space is ground upon. The Kabbalistic reason follows. The universe was formed in the shape of a cube, and a cube has six faces — and this cube is the manifold from which creation springs.

Set that beside the number one, which represents the magnitude of space — the actual space things are laid upon. One is the extent; six is the container's shape. And the phrase the place where space is ground upon puts six underneath space rather than inside it, which makes the six-pointed star a picture of the box everything else is in.

Where the Celestial and the Worldly Meet

The last correspondence explains why the perception claims sit on this number rather than on another. Six is the point of convergence between the celestial and the worldly, and the state of consciousness it produces is described as brought about by two sets of forces at once — the Superior Forces of Heaven and the Superior Forces of the Manifestation.

That is the same structure as the star itself: three from above, three from below, meeting. A practitioner standing at that meeting point is, on this account, in contact with both directions simultaneously, which is what the sensing capacities are built on. You feel disturbances in the magical realm because you are standing where the two realms touch.

It also explains the communion material. As a focus of communion, six lets a wizard contact the divine beings of the universe, communicate with them, and receive their favor. As a focus of prayer, it keeps them in constant union with the archangels and angels as his or her vibration raises from the levels of the mundane.

The Six-Pointed Grid

The construction follows the pattern of the other numbers, with its shape fixed by the number itself. Make a grid of six stones, objects or images, placed in the form of a six pointed star. Inside it, work operations related to clarity, dispelling lies and deception, and seeking the communication with the Holy Angels.

Enchant the grid with a Magicartifex Ubertas incantation and cast whichever incantation suits the operation. And then the fallback, which is the useful part for a beginner with no formula to hand: if an incantation is not found, the Wizard can place a strip of paper with the written intention. That is the second time a written petition appears as a substitute for a spoken formula — the five-object grid takes one too. In a system built on the claim that a word is a number that resolves to a code, a sentence written on paper is offered where the code is unknown.

Implementation Workflow — Working With Six

Two practices, one daily and one built. Start with the daily one. Three times a day, at minimum, close your eyes and see yourself inside a six-pointed Star of David, with a golden circle of light around the star. Hold it for at least six minutes each time. Nothing is said and nothing is drawn. The stated result is not safety but sensitivity — you are training to feel disturbances, perceive what cannot ordinarily be perceived, and read signs.

Then the built one. Six stones, objects or images laid out as a six-pointed star, enchanted with Magicartifex Ubertas. Use it for clarity, for cutting through lies and deception, or to reach the Holy Angels. Cast the appropriate incantation over it — and if you do not have one, write your intention on a strip of paper and put that inside the grid instead.

And keep the condition in view. The unlimited growth in the space of the Spirit is offered if they truly follow the ways of Light, Order and Goodness — which is the only conditional attached to any of the number practices.

Evidence, Tensions, Open Questions

The correspondences, the cube claim and the drill are asserted with no tradition named beyond a general attribution to the Kabbalists. This is the Eldest Tradition warrant on the source stub. 🚩 SINGLE SOURCE.

The sephirotic material is accurate to standard Kabbalah: Tiphareth is the sixth sephira, and Chesed, Geburah, Netzach, Hod, Yesod and Malkuth do surround it, with the meanings given. 🚩 The identification of the hexagram as both Star of David and Shield of Solomon is conventional, but the specific reading of it as three cosmogonic concepts over three cosmological ones is this system's own. 🚩 The cube claim is attributed to "the ancient Kabbalists" with no text named. A cubic cosmos appears in some Kabbalistic and Merkabah-adjacent material, but the specific formulation — the cube as the manifold from which creation springs — is not sourced here.

Unresolved: the drill claims a perceptual capacity and offers no way to test it. Nothing distinguishes a disturbance felt in the magical realm from ordinary unease, and no calibration, confirmation or error case is given.

Author Tensions & Convergences

Follow the shield language and six is protective. The Star of David is blessed beyond comparison and bestows protection, power, life and wisdom; the Sun's clarity rebukes evil; you sit inside the star with a golden circle around it. Follow the stated payoff and six is an antenna. What the practice actually delivers is connection to the ebbs of the universe, disturbances felt, the imperceptible perceived, signs read — all of which are ways of taking more in rather than keeping more out.

Both descriptions sit in the same passage, and they pull in opposite directions for anyone who is already troubled by what they are picking up. A shield should reduce what reaches you. This one is prescribed three times a day precisely to increase it.

Cross-Domain Handshakes

Uben-Shang — Spirit-Womb of the Talisman — Both traditions work with a field surrounding a body rather than with the body itself, and in both that surrounding field is where the protective and perceptual work actually happens. Neither treats the skin as the boundary of a person.

The difference is whether the field is already there. The Akan-Kemetic doctrine says every form has a corona — a person, a flame, the sun, a stone — and charging activates what is already present rather than creating it. The field is a property of the thing, like the heat you can feel coming off your own cheek.

Here the envelope is built out of attention and lapses when attention stops, which neither corpus notices. A wizard sees themselves inside the star and inside the golden circle, and that seeing is the field. Which is why one tradition can charge a talisman once and put it away, and this one has to prescribe three sittings a day. The schedule is not devotion or discipline; it is a decay rate. An activated corona persists because it belongs to the object. A visualised envelope has to be rebuilt before lunch.

The Live Edge

Sharpest implication. The most frequent practice in this whole curriculum is six minutes, three times a day, with no words and no gestures — and its stated purpose is not protection. It is to feel disturbances in the magical realm, to perceive the imperceptible, and to read the symbols and signs of the heavens and the earth.

Generative questions.

  • The star is called a shield and the practice increases what you perceive. Which of those is the six-minute sitting actually doing?
  • The cube is called the place where space is ground upon. Is six therefore beneath the other numbers rather than after them?
  • A written intention substitutes for an incantation in both the five-grid and the six-grid. Does a sentence in your own words carry a number too?
