The first enchantments act on a person to help them. Three of these four act on a person who has already been acted on by somebody else — and the assumption behind all three is that the victim may not know. Some people may not even realize they are under a spell until their mind has been cleared up.1
That sentence is the reason this set exists. It means the person in front of you cannot be asked, because asking assumes they can tell — and the whole class of harm these charms answer is the kind that removes the ability to notice it. ⚠ The fourth charm in the set is not about people at all. It is a storage operation, and it is the most procedurally complete entry in the four spellbook levels read in this build.
The first is a specific counter to a specific attack. It removes the black magic effects of being obfuscated, under the influence of wrongful love magics, and those magical effects which make people fall under the influences of temptations. What it frees is the recipient's spirit and mind, from magical seductions, temptations and enticements.
The named case is put plainly: it liberates a person which has been the victim of love magic, or of activities which incarcerate its heart for another person. Incarcerate the heart. Which is the picture the charm is built around — a person held in place by a feeling that was put there.
And the stated primary use is defensive rather than curative: the charm is used primarily as a defense from magic users which cast love spells. Then the line that governs the whole set: some people may not even realize they are under a spell until their mind has been cleared up.
⚠ No consent condition appears anywhere in the entry, and the sentence above is the reason — the charm is aimed at a state that hides itself from the person in it. Psalm 133:1. Celestial: Ramachar, Archangel of the Second Heaven, who keeps the Wizard safe from temptation.
The second is aimed at a heavier version of the same problem, and what it names as stolen is unusually specific. It restores the will to a person which is being victim of witchery, psychic control or mental vampirism. Three named attacks, and the third is a word this curriculum uses elsewhere for a class of creature.
What is being taken is listed as three separate capacities: their own free will, their capacity to make assertive decisions, and their ability to discern between good and evil. Read those as a sequence and they are not three names for the same thing. You can lose the ability to choose. You can keep it and lose the nerve to act on it. And you can keep both and lose the sense of which choice is which. The charm is described as stopping magical operations that rob a person of any of the three.
Then the mechanism, and it is the same one the Vice Breaker uses one school over: the incantation will destroy the magical tethers that evil magic users and evil psychics create to ensnare other people and put them under their vile and malicious control. Tethers again. Cut, and then the aftercare: the charm will restore a person's will and lost energy.
Psalm 126:5. Celestial: Shamahar, Archangel of the Third Heaven, who protects against psychic attacks, witchery and vampirism.
The third is aimed at sadness and it names a cause that is not psychological. What it does: it provides happiness, tranquility and a deep feeling of ease, changing sorrowful, sad and even depressed emotional states to that of happiness and cheerfulness.
The mechanism is a field: the charm works by creating an energy field of vitality and happiness around the person so accursed, which eradicates those energies which keep a person sad. And then the specific thing it is described as removing: it destroys the draining effects of astral larvae which siphon all sort of energies from a person.
Astral larvae. Named as siphoning creatures rather than as a figure of speech, and this is the only entry in the four spellbook levels read in this build that attributes a mood to something feeding on the person. The broader use is gentler: the charm works to bring happiness to grumpy, angry and even disheartened individuals, providing them with a more wholesome and happy life.
⚠ This entry addresses depressed emotional states. It is reported, not endorsed, and nothing on this page is a treatment. Depression is a medical condition and belongs with a doctor.
Psalm 112:7. Celestial: Rakael, Host of the Second Heaven, who provides the feeling of happiness.
The fourth is not a charm aimed at anybody. It is a container, and it is specified more completely than almost anything else in the spellbook. What it does: the Wizard places several magical operations at once into a single item.
The procedure has three steps and they are in a fixed order. First, use the In Nomine Deux Benedicto Incantation — the general blessing, which the benedictions set says must precede any other enchantment on an object. Second, cast up to eight incantations, divine names or magical words while touching the desired object. Third, the Responeres Charm is used to close the operation.
Eight. That is the capacity of one object, and it is the same eight that appears in every ring of the Philosophical Sphere and in the crosses traced for the room blessing. Then the expiry rule, and it runs on two clocks at once. The incantations will be conserved in the item for as long as they are not used, or three months had passed, whichever comes first.
Whichever comes first. So a charged object has a shelf life and a single use — it holds until you spend it, or three months, and the earlier of the two ends it. Two guarantees follow, and they are the reason a practitioner would bother. The stored incantations will not lose their magical power and will not fail when used. And once bound, they are protected from dispelling incantations and energy drains.
So the object is not merely storage. It is hardened storage — the point of putting eight workings inside one item is that they cannot be stripped out by somebody else's counter-charm, which is exactly the attack the other three entries in this set exist to undo. Psalm 85:17. Celestial: Thyael, Host of the Fourth Heaven, who allows that objects be enchanted.
Read the four as a set and the shape is a defensive kit rather than four unrelated charms. Three of them undo an attack on a person: an affection that was installed, a will that was taken, and a mood that something is feeding on. All three describe the victim as unlikely to know, and all three work by removing something and then restoring what was drained.
The fourth is what you prepare in advance. Eight workings, bound into an object, guaranteed not to fail and protected from dispelling incantations and energy drains — the two things the first three are cleaning up after. So the set answers a single situation from both ends. If somebody is already got at, use one of the first three. If you expect to be, load an object with eight and put it beyond their reach.
The celestials cluster tightly here, at the Second, Third, Second and Fourth Heaven, and three of the four are ranked Archangel or Host. Every office restates its charm — safety from temptation, protection against psychic attack, the feeling of happiness, and permission for objects to be enchanted.
If somebody's affection looks installed rather than grown: Corruptela Diffugere. Expect that the person may not know until afterwards, which the entry states outright. If somebody has lost their will, their nerve for decisions, or their sense of right and wrong: Invitus Revoco. It cuts the tethers and then restores the will and the lost energy.
For a persistent low mood, and alongside proper medical care rather than instead of it: Praemo Felicitas. The charm is described as building a field of vitality around the person and destroying what is draining them. To load an object: bless it first with In Nomine Deux Benedicto. Then, touching the object, cast up to eight incantations, divine names or magical words. Then close with Responeres Magicares.
And treat a loaded object as perishable. It holds until used or for three months, whichever ends first, and the stored workings are guaranteed not to fail and cannot be dispelled by anybody else.
The four incantations, their effects, procedures, psalms and celestials are all in the Second Level Enchantments section of the spellbook. This is the Eldest Tradition warrant on the source stub. 🚩 SINGLE SOURCE.
⚠ Health material on this page is reported, not endorsed. Praemo Felicitas addresses depressed emotional states and is not a treatment for depression. ⚠ Astral larvae are named as creatures that siphon energy from a person and are not defined in the ranges read in this build. ⚠ Mental vampirism is named as a distinct attack alongside witchery and psychic control, and is likewise undefined.
⚠ None of the three rescue charms carries a consent condition, and the set's own reasoning is why: a person under one of these effects is stated to be unable to tell. Unresolved: Responeres Magicares stores up to eight workings and nothing states what happens on the ninth, or whether spending one of the eight ends the whole object or only that one.
Follow the three rescue charms and this school acts on people who cannot ask. The victim may not realise until their mind has been cleared, so the charm goes ahead — and the whole set is built on that reasoning. Follow the enchantment school's own first level and consent-shaped conditions are everywhere. Recognition needs real work. A confession needs a real crime. The countenance charm fails with consequences if used to take advantage of somebody.
Both levels are the same school. The one that will not let you fake a reputation will let you reach into a stranger's affections and cut something out, on the grounds that they would not be able to agree to it anyway.
Zero handshakes on this page. The material is four printed formulas with their effects, procedures, texts and celestials, and the connections worth having — how tethers are cut, and how an object gets loaded and blessed — sit inside this build already on the pages that treat each directly.
Sharpest implication. One charm in this set is a hardened container. Eight workings bound into a single object, blessed first, cast while touching it, sealed at the end — and once sealed they will not fail when used and are protected from dispelling incantations and energy drains. It is the answer to exactly the attacks the other three charms are cleaning up after.
Generative questions.
